• Carpet is one of the cheapest flooring options, and there are endless options for colors, patterns, and thickness. Depending on the thickness of the carpet you choose, it may show more wear over time, but is a quieter, softer alternative to hardwood or other like options.
• Carpet floors use a tackless strip along the perimeter of the room to grip and hold the carpet in place. After laying the carpet pad, the carpet is anchored to one corner, stretched to fill the floor, and trimmed at the edges. Glued-down carpet can either be glued onto an underlayment pad or directly onto the floor.
• Ceramic tile and porcelain tile are very similar flooring materials, molded from clay, baked to harden, and then sealed. Porcelain tiles are much more water resistant than ceramic, and therefore can be slightly more expensive butmore durable and longer-lasting. Ceramic is not recommended for outside use, because water absorption can cause it to crack.
• Ceramic may be the easiest floor tile for you to remove, either by hand with a chisel or with the help of a tile saw. We can do removal for both ceramic and porcelain floor tiles, and we have all the right equipment to do so.
• Hardwood flooring is a beautiful, natural flooring choice. Because it is made of real wood, it is a bit more costly to purchase and install than an alternative like laminate. It may show wear more easily in high-traffic areas, but it is very durable and long-lasting, because it can be easily maintained and repaired by sanding or refinishing the existing flooring.
• Hardwood floor removal takes a little elbow grease because it is nailed, stapled, or glued to the ground during installation. One way to save time is to use a saw to cut the hardwood into pieces before prying it up, but if you plan on re-using the wood, it must be handled more delicately.
• Laminate wood flooring, also referred to as floating laminate, is made of composite, or synthetic, wood, with several ply layers and a protective  surface layer, to simulate or substitute hardwood floors. It is cheaper than hardwood flooring because of its easy installation and maintenance, plus can be more durable and easier to clean. Laminate is also a bit quieter to walk on than hardwood flooring. And because it does not expand and contract as much as hardwood in response to moisture and humidity, laminate is generally a preferred flooring option in the Florida climate.
• For outside flooring, natural stone is recommended, as it is very durable and holds upgreatly to varying weather conditions when sealed. It also provides a beautiful, natural lookwith inside use, such as in kitchens or bathrooms. However, depending on the type of stone, it can also be subject to scratches, chipping, or cracking, due to its porous or brittle nature. Different types of natural stone floors include granite, limestone, marble, sandstone, slate, and travertine.
• Marble flooring is one of the most popular natural stone choices. It comes in a wide variety of colors and patterns. Since it can be porous and easily scratched, it is recommended to seal it well or use in low-traffic areas. Marble flooring can easily be repaired, versus another form of tile such asporcelain, which may need to be replaced in the event of damage.
• Vinyl flooring is a popular flooring option for both residential and commercial buildingsespecially in kitchens, bathrooms, or other high-traffic areas. It is durable, low-maintenance, and water-resistant. Vinyl floors comes in two main size options, either in sheet flooring or tile flooring. While sheet flooring is easier to install, vinyl tiling is a cheaper replica of ceramic tiling, which makes it the preferred look between the two.
• Vinyl flooring needs to be cut or scraped up from the ground, and then the glue adhesive needs to be cleaned away as well, which often over time is absorbed into the subfloor.
• Vinyl Composition Tiling (VCT) is mostly used in the flooring for businesses and schools, and can be a smooth, waxed tile surface. It is often used for commercial buildings because it can hold up to high traffic. VCT can be easily cleaned, as well as easily replaced. VCT can come in a variety of patterns that can resemble other flooring materials.
• If you are looking to upgrade your current VCT flooring, you’re in luck! VCT is easily removed by cutting the tile into sections to pull up the tile layers and then cleaning off the adhesive.
