Laminate flooring can come in many different styles and formats like simulated wood planks, glue-down strips and even tiles. Many people like laminate flooring because it is much cheaper than real hardwood and looks just as great, but it can happen more often than most that you call a floor professional for tile removal. Dade City should be aware that when you remove an old laminate layer from over the top of a concrete floor, it is very quick and easy to replace it with another type of flooring. But each form of laminate has its own set of challenges that can make it difficult to deal with.

Laminate in Floating Format

Floating laminate tiles are the easiest type of flooring to remove because they are not actually glued down to the concrete but rest on top of it. These tiles are held in place only by snapping two tiles together. When you are doing a floating format tile removal, Dade City Professionals often start by removing the baseboard trim around the edge of the room. You have to pry the first panel or tile up, and the rest should soon come out easy. With the exception of a pry bar, you should not need any extra tools or equipment to remove laminate tiles of the floating format.

Laminate Tiles that are Glued On

Glued tiles are probably the hardest type of laminate flooring to remove because before you can start removing tiles, you are going to have to use a warm water solution to soften up the glue before you can pry them apart. With glued on laminate tile removal, Dade City professionals might have to use a hand scraper to pry up and scrape away the tiles a piece at a time. Alternatively, many flooring professionals use an oscillating multi tool to help then get the job done.
